A Wild & Crazy Saturday night

There will be NO suspense in this blog. I will get right to the supporting details of the post title:

Last night, I watched a Hallmark movie LIVE last night from 9-11pm!

That’s right people-live, from 9pm-11pm! So many things about this that are wild and crazy!! ( If I was in elementary school I would write, “this essay will tell you the reasons why this is wild and crazy”.)

First, let’s talk about the timeframe. Yes, you read correctly- 9pm- in the evening (some may say ‘middle of the night’) UNTIL 11 pm (everyone agrees this IS the middle of the night!) I can hear the shock and amazement spreading to you all now. What can I say?

And this book looks cute, so I linked it if you are interested, I don’t get any money for this, its NOT a #sponsored #ad #partnership thing.

I know this feat may be inspirational to you all, I mean I extended my waking hours by 2-3 in one night alone! IMPRESSIVE, I know. But also kinda scary.** Also, I should note that I did NOT have any wine or other alcohol b/c then I would have been asleep by 9:10pm as one is with these things.

Next, did you see the part up there where I told you that I watched the show live? LIVE TV PEOPLE!

Now, to be clear, when I say live, I am implying: “not recorded/or on a DVR”. I mean we all know that such spectacular Hallmark movie acting can’t happen in one take, while being broadcast from locations as amazing as “adorable- remote -island -with- perfect- weather-year-round- only- accessible- by- “Disneyeque”-style- ferry- holding- (max of)- 20 people- ONCE- PER-DAY”. While Hallmark is the business of miracles* , I think that would be “unrealistic” for even them to pull off.

Here’s a fun fact about me: I don’t watch live tv. Breaking news, press conferences, awards shows, Wheel of Fortune- nothing. I don’t even watch Patriots‘ games live- even when watching on the staycation deck and hearing neighbors cheer with joy as they are a solid hour ahead of me). So the fact that I watched a “Premiere” of a Hallmark movie without the ability to fast-forward through commercials, and pay attention, and stay awake is a testament to how (awesome, amazing, wild, crazy, inspiring, amazing) dedicated I am to a goal.

Yep, I made it my goal- stay awake till 11pm. And look at that. I did it. I should have titled this post- “GOAL ACHIEVED”. ( OR “Bob’s your uncle” or “Success (should be my middle name)!” Also, I’m giving myself props that I stayed awake in my cozy bed until 11pm. Self-care & self-love should not be undervalued people- just saying.

Now, some of you may say that this achievement is really a testament to the spectacular Hallmark movie itself- (this one is titled “In the Key of Love“. ) However it would be fair to note that most hallmarkies will be able to tell you that clearly the powers that be of Hallmark didn’t have faith in this movie as being a riveting ‘page turner’ ( metaphor there). The proof to support such a bold statement: it was scheduled in the channel’s “no mans land” of episode theming. Translation- it didn’t make it into Hallmark’s Spring Fling season ( beginning NEXT week with a ‘new premiere weekly’) and was not part of the “Love Every After” or “Winterfest” themed weeks thus far in the 2020 season. SO, it was a random premiere, with no solid marketing to back it up- thrown a softball by showing it in the middle of their “We need a little Christmas Movie Marathon” (planned at the last minute to soothe the social distancing struggle** out there) in order to make sure it got viewers!

… I mean, yeah, this was me- the viewer they went after. So their marketing worked. Good job Hallmark. Also, it wasn’t even a bad movie. It was actually pretty good and made me want to go to the island it was filmed on – so I am not sure why they didn’t have faith in it. It’d be a great addition to the the June Weddings theme series (that traditionally comes in June). So anyway, my point is that many of you are clearly thinking that my wild and crazy Saturday night accomplishment really should be credited to Hallmark- HOWEVER even if I didn’t prove my point clearly above, I say no. I get the credit. I did the work. I put in the time. It was me. But I will give Hallmark the “assist”.

I MADE THIS MEME MYSELF! ( there’s a website to do this- did you know this?)

*Oh one more thing, we, as fios “not-the-bottom-of-the-barrel- 12 channel-package- but- not- high-faluting-all-the-channels-in-the-world – package” subscribers, only get the 1 (original) Hallmark Channel as part of our package. However, we do know others who also have Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, & the new Hallmark Drama channels as part of their subscriptions, so I may have planned ahead when leaving school last week- & borrowed my classroom HDMI connectors so I can check out these channels to preview the possible investment (based on how long I am told to stay home and watch tv remotely enrich students’ education**). Or I may not have done this- there’s no way I would do things that aren’t legal and broadcast to the whole world that reads my blog. Seriously. I may be a bit sleep deprived, but I am not a moron.

Also: Wild= LIVE tv watching Crazy= 11pm people!!

Now, I am going outside to take a walk- to exercise. WHAT. IS. HAPPENING?

Happy Sunday everyone! xoxo
